budget-friendly Photographer and Videographer : How to find one

get the perfect shot!

Hiring Photographers and Videographers can be a costly aspect of a wedding.

Let's face it.. after all the gifts have been opened, the cake eaten, the last champagne drank and the final speech given, all that's left to us are the photos and videos that we can revisit again and again.

In spite of this, practical couples can still find ways to fit it in a reasonable budget.

For us, we were blessed because my fiance is also into photography and his photography group agreed to cover for the prenup and the wedding.

For those who don't have this liberty, don't fret, there are still ways. :)

Here are some tips..

Scout your area - usually, those who command a very high price are those that are already well-known in the industry. Look for low-profile P/V and chances are their rates are lower.

Scout photography groups - photography groups have a vast pool of talent and most of them are excited when presented with the opportunity to practice. The hunger to hone their craft gives them the willingness to shoot for a very minimal fee. Others would even agree for an X-deal.

Get a little help from your friends - chances are some of your friends are photography enthusiasts and would be really ecstatic to cover your event.

Get a little help from your guests - Almost everyone has a digital camera nowadays. Set a picture taking contest such as I-spy to encourage your guests to snap on, and to give you copies after the event. ;)

Remember that quality photos can be obtained even by the most basic of cameras. ( I was able to prove this to myself when I saw our prenup shots that were mostly taken by various kinds of point and shoot digicams. Click here for the photos.)

More than the technical skills and the equipment, what's also important is the capability of the photographer to capture something truly captivating and wonderful by seeing beyond the ordinary.
